The German Maritime Arbitration Association (GMAA) established the "GMAA 40" in 2010. This is a forum for younger GMAA members and interested parties from law firms and maritime practice with a link to arbitration. Participation at GMAA 40 events is open to all those aged 40 and under. GMAA 40 meets regularly in the framework of events and panel discussions on topics relating to maritime arbitration. In the tradition of the GMAA, which was founded in 1983 by shipping lawyers and representatives of the maritime sector from Hamburg and Bremen, the GMAA 40 also wishes to organise and offer events in both locations and further afield. The aim of the GMAA 40 is to further an exchange of information and experiences and to develop new perspectives for maritime arbitration. Active participation and suggestions from the members are always welcome.
